Itβs so pretty outside! βοΈ when I was confirmed profoundly deaf in the L ear in Jun 2020 and acknowledged that my R ear had declined I faced the harsh possibility that if my R ear followed the same timetable as my L ear I could be profoundly deaf in both ears by 2022. Itβs Jan β22 and I still have a ton of useable hearing in my R. πππAnd Iβm definitely using it for good things. In 2020 I forgot about my hearing situation and bought a lifetime membership to @dwellbible π€£π€£π€£. When I realized what I had done I was like, k – I just need x more years of useable hearing to break even π₯π₯π₯. I also started preparing by learning #cuedspeech and #asl. Iβm a novice, but I can be sassy during telehealth spontaneously in sign/cueing. π€£π€£π€£. And when I started I knew I had to strengthen my eyes and hands. Options: (1) video games (2) knitting. I chose knitting. At first I had to fall asleep with my Pain Light Stim on my hands bc it hurt so much. But I built up hand strength and coordination. But everything had slowed bc of my overall health. π. And my original brain injury means both speech production and receptivity are slow and this makes me anxious. I seriously gave nightmares π π. But right now my eyes are bothering me. I think my enlarged optic nerve (not an emergency) is driving this. Prayers appreciated. Count on it, Ning. You are prayed for every single day.
Knitting? π² That takes patience and math ability, the way I see it! Did you make that little friend in the photo? A very charming companion!
Thanks, Mrs. B!! No, Sandy was hand knitted by fair trade artisans in Peru. Iβm about to start Jeremy Longtail – I have a kindle that can read to me!! π
